ARREST LOG: Man Arrested With Cash in Shower



The following is an excerpt from the  log. Please note that this is a sampling of activity in the log, not a complete account. We report all arrests included in the daily police log.

Aug. 10 –

At 4:54 p.m., William J. Hinchcliff-Metrano, 23, of 32 Rumford Park Ave., was arrested and charged with assault and battery (domestic), larceny under $250 and two outstanding warrants. According to police, Hinchcliff-Metrano was subdued by witnesses when police arrived and took him into custody. Police said witnesses reported Hinchcliff-Metrano ran into the bathroom shower when confronted about stolen cash. Witnesses followed him in, saw that he was holding cash and continued to question him. Witnesses told police the 23-year-old became violent, clawing and scratching at the victim. When police arrived, two people had subdued Hinchcliff-Metrano, who was taken into custody.   

Aug. 12 –

At 3:17 p.m., Matthew Charles Stokes, 22, of 6 Jones Ave., was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct. According to police, officers received a report of a man attempting to enter a Jones Avenue home. Officers had also been called there the day before, said police. When police arrived, they found about 10 people outside the Jones Avenue home, including Stokes. Police spoke to Stokes, who said he needed to get “his money” out of the house. Police told Stokes he was not welcome in the home and had to leave. When an officer asked Stokes if he would like a ride somewhere, he said he would prefer to walk and kept walking toward the house. Police told Stokes if he walked toward the house again, he would be arrested. Stokes again attempted to enter the house and was taken into custody. He was later served with a restraining order, said police.  

At 8:05 p.m., Matthew J. Decosta, 31, of 49 High St., was arrested and charged with violating an abuse prevention order. According to police, Decosta was found in a residence, in violation of the restraining order. He was taken into custody.
