On Friday, Jan. 17, an officer was called to St. Anthony's Club on Main Street where a woman said she was assaulted by another woman inside the club.
Upon police arrival, a woman said she was slapped by a woman near the downstairs bar area of the business. The woman said she was sitting at the bar when the other woman came out of the restroom. Words were exchanged, and then the slap allegedly occurred.
This incident was reportedly part of an ongoing issue over a text message that was sent. The caller refused medical treatment when police arrived after the alleged assault.
Police were able to locate the other involved woman, who said that when she walked by the bar the caller stoop up in an aggressive manner. She said that she hit the woman with an open hand to defend herself.
Due to the conflicting stories, police could only file the report and inform both women that if they would like to pursue the matter further they could file at Woburn District Court.
