Featured Incident

On Wednesday, Dec. 4, police were called to Hess on Montvale Ave. for a report of a hit and run.

Upon arriving, an employee said that at about 5:20 p.m. a large rental truck with Oklahoma registration was parked at a pump.

The unknown operator of the truck filled the tank with $80 worth of fuel and paid cash inside. The driver then left the store, entered the truck and began to back up.

While backing up, the rear of the truck struck the handle of another pump, causing it to break. The truck also hit a cement barrier near the pump.

The employee then left the store to approach the driver. While speaking with the operator, she informed him of the damage the truck had done. The woman did not believe the driver spoke English and thus did not understand what she was saying.

Police ran the plate of the truck involved in the crash, but no records showed up for the entry. Officers attempted to contact the rental company, but they were closed for the day.
