UPDATED: Firefighters Knock Down Two-Alarm Fire on Main Street

UPDATED at 7:04 p.m. Tuesday: The American Red Cross is responding to the scene to help the family affected by the single-family house fire. 

UPDATED at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday: 
Woburn Police report that Main Street is still closed at Eaton Avenue and the Route 128 Rotary. Expect major traffic delays. 

UPDATED at 5:54 p.m. Tuesday: 
Firefighters report the fire has been knocked down. Companies are checking for any fire extension. 

UPDATED at 5:53 p.m. Tuesday:
Three lines are currently fighting the blaze. There is heavy fire on the second fire of the home.

Woburn firefighters are at the scene of a two-alarm house fire on Main Street near Middlesex Canal Park Drive. 

Firefighters arrived at the scene at 740 Main St., at about 5:15 p.m. Tuesday. There was heavy smoke billowing from the house. They struck a second alarm, which brought more apparatus to the scene.
