Sept. 22—At 1:15 a.m., John R. Ricci Jr., 52, of 42 Liberty Ave., was arrested and charged with assault and battery (domestic) and assault. According to police, officers were called to Liberty Avenue for a report of two men fighting inside a residence. When police arrived, they found the two men arguing in the bathroom. Both men were uncooperative and told police there was no problem, said officers. Police reported witnesses said the men physically argued after one left a bar without Ricci. Police also reported that Ricci allegedly threw a full cup of soda at a person in the home.

POLICE LOG: Man Accused of Stealing Vegetables

Sept. 23—At 4:53 p.m., police were called to the Iannachi Farm Stand on Lexington Street for a report of suspicious activity involving a man driving a white vehicle. A police officer en route to the call encountered the white car and pulled the man over. According to police, the man repeatedly stated, “I didn’t do anything.” Police spoke to a witness who said that the man was seen picking vegetables in the community gardens, even though he did not have a garden in the area. The witness said he asked the man what he was doing and the man ran from the area. Police were unable to find the vegetables in his possession. Police asked the man to leave the area and not return. 

 

POLICE LOG: 'Weird' Man Removed From Mall Lot

Sept. 24—At 3:11 p.m., a Woburn woman reported she was followed into the Woburn Mall by a suspicious man. According to police, a witness gave the woman his license plate for reporting purposes. Later, police received a report from another woman saying that a “weird” man was in the Woburn Mall parking lot. Police went to the lot and spoke to the man, who was the same man from the earlier report. The man told police he did not know what they were talking about. Police gave the man a ride to his home.

 

POLICE LOG: 'Bizarre' Man Demands Fake Arm

Sept. 26—At 8:16 a.m., police responded to a West Cummings Park business for a report of an unwanted party. According to police, a man entered the facility in March and again on Sept. 24 and asked to purchase a prosthetic arm. The employee explained how prosthetic limbs are prescribed by a doctor and then purchased. The employee told police that the man was “extremely confrontational” and “persistent to the point of being bizarre.” Police identified the man through his car registration and informed the employee how she could obtain a no trespass order.

 

POLICE LOG: Thief Enters Many Cars Overnight

Sept. 27—At 7:23 a.m., police responded to Elijah Street for a report of several vehicles broken into overnight. According to police, the investigating officer found five vehicles entered on Elijah Street, all of which were unlocked. The investigating officer said all the items stolen were “easily pocketed.” A set of “expensive” golf clubs was left in one of the entered vehicles, said police. Officers will conduct extra patrols in the area. Police advise residents to lock their cars.
