POLICE LOG: Teen Arrested After Fleeing Crash

Sept. 29—At 10:22 a.m., police were dispatched to Inwood Drive for a report of a domestic dispute Friday night. According to police, a couple argued when a man tried to take her photo. The woman told police that the couple had a history of verbal abuse.

Sept. 30—At 6:26 p.m., a 16-year-old Woburn boy was arrested and charged with unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle. According to police, the teen was involved in a single-car crash on Salem Street. Police reported the teen struck a utility pole, leaving several car parts behind, and fled the area. As officers were responding to the scene, a police sergeant observed the teen driving on Harrison Avenue and pulled the car over. Upon further investigation, the teen was arrested and charged with unlicensed operation. He was later released to his mother’s custody.

POLICE LOG: Couple Told To 'Act Like Adults'

Oct. 1—At 11:17 a.m., police responded to a Main Street address for a report of a domestic incident. According to police, a Billerica man reported his ex-girlfriend took his truck and brought it to Woburn. Police asked the man if the woman could drive the truck back to his residence, but he refused. The man arrived in Woburn to pick up his keys and truck. Police reported that during the incident, officers had to repeatedly ask the man and woman to “act like adults.”

Oct. 1—At 8:53 p.m., police responded to the Stop & Shop parking lot for a report of three cars damaged. According to police, three XPEDX/International Paper Co. tractor trailer units were vandalized after drivers abandoned the trucks and went on strike. The trucks’ air hoses were cut, said police. 

 

POLICE LOG: Woman Arrested in Middle of Main Street

Oct. 2—At 11:23 a.m., Tracy Ann Rao, 40, of 47 Everett St., was arrested and charged with shoplifting by asportation (third offense). According to police, Stop and Shop employees reported a woman matching Rao’s description had left the store without paying for over $200 in food. Police saw the woman running away from the store and being chased by employees. The officer blocked Rao’s path as she ran south on Main Street in the middle of the road and immediately placed her in custody. During investigation, Rao told police she stole the food because she had no money to pay for it.
