Funding Approved to Research New Fire Station

According to a report in the Daily Times Chronicle, the funding was approved at a City Council meeting last week.

One of the projects that city officials have on their radar for the upcoming year is a new station for the Woburn Fire Department. Thanks to last week's City Council meeting, work on that topic can officially get underway.

According to a report in the Daily Times Chronicle, aldermen approved a request of $2.7 million in capital projects requested by the mayor during a meeting last week. Included in that funding is $200,000 for a study on whether or not the city should build a new Fire Department headquarters.

In addition to the study, the mayor's capital funding gave the green light for Woburn to acquire a new engine truck and other vehicles, the Daily Times Chronicle reported.
