At 4:20 a.m. police responded to the Starbucks at 99 Commerce Way on a report of a suspicious item.
Police were shown a yellow 5-gallon gas tank filled approximately ¾ of the way with liquid. There was also a piece of red rope hanging out from the area of the tank where one would pour out the gas.
Police dispatched backup due to the nature of the item. A member of the State Police Bomb Squad also responded.
Police tested the liquid and confirmed it was a mixture of gasoline and kerosene.
A Starbucks employee said the container was not at the dumpster around noon the previous day when he was last out there.
Woburn DPW removed the gas can for disposal.
