Featured Incident

On Tuesday, Dec. 24, at about 10:45 p.m., police were called to Bedford Road for a report of a vehicle being struck by an object.

Upon arrival, police found a group of people in a driveway in the area. The caller made herself known to police and said that while traveling west on Bedford Road her Jeep was struck with an object and damaged.

The woman said she observed a group of youths on the side of the road and then heard an object strike her vehicle. Police discovered that the object in question was an egg, and the point of impact was the driver's window frame and roof area.

The impact startled the driver and caused her to pull to the right, away from the impact area. The woman then struck the curb on the westbound lane, which cased minor damage to the front passenger side tire rim.

According to the driver, the group of youths ran into the yard of a Bedford Road home, and she pulled into the driveway to speak to an adult. The residence was hosting a Christmas party, and while an officer was on scene a male juvenile walked up to him crying with an adult female.

The boy said he threw an egg and believed he struck the vehicle. The boy's father was in the driveway as well.

All parties understood that the incident could have resulted in serious injury and more damage, and the family of the boy agreed to make restitution for the damage caused by the incident.
