Featured Incident

A patrol officer was assigned to Inwood Drive on Monday, Oct. 28, for a report of threats and cruelty to an animal.

According to the reporting woman, she was out with her chocolate lab in the back yard of her apartment playing during the evening hours. While they were in the yard, the dog was off his leash and ran over to an unknown man who was standing at the mailbox with his dog.

The woman said the man immediately punched the chocolate lab on the top his his head. The woman said she then asked him, "What are you doing? You just punched my dog."

Though the man did not reply, the woman said he then kicked her dog in the side, to which the woman replied, "What is your problem?"

Police were told by the woman that the man then said "You're done. I am following you home to find out where you live, and then you're done."

According to the reporting party, the man then followed her and her dog. At one point, the man began to run in order to catch up to her. The woman said she told the man to stop following her, but he continued to do so.

Upon reaching the rear door of her apartment, she entered and locked the door behind her. At that point, the man and his dog left the area without further incident.

The officer asked the woman if she knew who the man was. She said she did not know him, but believes he lives in the complex because he was at the mailbox.

Police searched the complex for the man the woman described, but were unable to find anyone matching the description. The woman was encouraged to contact the property management in neighbors just in case anyone else has reported a similar incident.
