Featured Incident

On Monday, Dec. 2, an officer was called to Creston Ave. for a report of larceny or fraud.

Upon arrival police spoke to a man who said he had purchased a Shiba Inu dog that he had found on Dogs Now, a website.

The dog was located in Woodbridge, N.J., and was selling for approximately $320. The man called and sent a text message to the number provided.

Through these actions, the man was advised to send via a Western Union money order a total of $515.00. The man was instructed to send the money to a woman in Turnwater, Washington, for the cost of the dog and shipping fees.

The man was told once the money was received, the dog would be shipped to his house. However, when the dog was not at his house at the time he was informed it would be, he decided to contact the seller again.

This time, the man was informed that the dog was sick and needed some shots, so he needed to send more money. The man did not send any money and decided it was a possible scam.
