The following is an excerpt from the Woburn Police Department log. Please note that this is a sampling of activity in the log, not a complete account.

Featured Incident

On Monday, Nov. 18, an officer in the lobby took a report of fraudulent use a man's information and information at U-Haul.

The man said that the man was recently attempting to rent a truck, but when he was at the business they would not rent him one because he had numerous outstanding balances due to previous U-Haul rentals.

Employees at U-Haul said the man could not rent a truck until he cleared up his debts. The man responded by telling employees that he had never rented from them before and he believes someone had done so in his name.

While speaking with police, the man called U-Haul and was told that there were two other men linked to his account. Between April 2008 and May 2011, four trucks were rented in Waltham and Peabody and his outstanding balance was over $1,000.

When told the names linked to his account, the man said that he had never heard of them and did not know who they were.

A search for the man linked to the account showed that he lives in Peabody and had a previous address on Montvale Ave. in Woburn. He is the only suspect at this time.
