Featured Incident

Police were called to Garfield Ave. on Tuesday, Jan. 7, for a report of a past larceny.

According to the caller, he left the house that morning at about 8:10 a.m. and was expecting a package to be delivered. Upon arriving back home at 5:20 p.m., he was informed that FedEx had delivered the package around noon. When he returned home, the package was not there.

When the man then entered his apartment, he noticed that it was not left in the same manner that it was when he left in the morning even though no one else had been home. Lights were on in the building and a rear latch that leads to the basement was not completely secure as he had left it.

The man told police he had been having problems with his landlord and a neighbor as well.

A woman who also lives with the reporting party reported that her diamond ring was taken from the apartment, valued at about $1,200. The FedEx package that was taken contained a belt from Sak's Fifth Avenue valued at $346.06.
