Melanie Melanson Search To Continue Saturday

Private investigators will resume the search early morning.


The search for continued today, with private investigators searching a wooded area off of Montvale Avenue.

Private Investigator Alan Tate and volunteers began working early Friday, hoping to find evidence in the 1989 disappearance of 14-year-old Melanie Melanson.

According to Boston.com, Tate said crews "have not found anything yet."

Tate, founder of Mission for the Missing, and crews focused on the area because soil reportedly tested positive for human remains in November.

Melanson went missing in 1989, after attending a party in the woods with a group of friends. Melanie was last seen with two boys, who have maintained for 23 years that they have no knowledge of what happened to the teenager.
