Police Investigate Threats of Gun Violence, Pedestrian Struck

An excerpt from the WPD police log. The following arrest information was supplied by the Woburn Police Department. The arrest does not indicate a conviction.

The following is an excerpt from the Woburn Police Department log. Please note that this is a sampling of activity in the log, not a complete account. We report all arrests included in the daily police log.

At 7:52 p.m. police responded to an Elm Street apartment on a report of overheard threats. The caller stated she heard her upstairs neighbor state he was going to shoot someone. The caller further stated that she had a previous relationship with the neighbor and that he doesn’t get along with her new boyfriend. She also stated that the neighbor was in a possession of a firearm left to him by his deceased father.

Police spoke to the neighbor. They patted him down to ensure he was not carrying a firearm and did a sweep of the apartment to ensure nobody else was inside. Initially the man said he did not possess a firearm but later stated it was in a drawer. He said he did not have any ammunition and after some discussion turned it over to police.

Other Incidents

July 8-

At 1:06 p.m. a woman came to the station to report a past breaking and entering of her motor vehicle. She said that she had parked her vehicle at Anderson Station at 3 p.m. on July 5. When she returned the next morning at 12:30 a.m. she found her wallet had been stolen. She said the doors were locked but she may have left a window open slightly due to the heat.

The wallet was a 9 West wallet that contained her license, bankcards and insurance cards. While she was cancelling her cards she found one of them had been used at Joseph’s Catering for a $13 charge. The wallet was worth about $100.

 

At 1:48 p.m. police responded to an Old Cambridge Road residence on a report of larceny. Police spoke to the caller who said that he has his disability check deposited directly into his bank account. He recently noticed that there was no deposit made on June 3 as per normal. When he contacted Social Security they said the money was transferred to another account in his name. The caller said the other account wasn’t his and he never authorized the transfer of the funds. The Social Security office requested a police report before beginning an investigation.

 

At 3:10 p.m. a caller at the parking lot at 100 Sylvan Road reported that while he was backing out of a spot he struck a woman who was walking behind his vehicle. The pedestrian was awake and spoke to him and she said the he struck her. She was transported to Lahey Clinic in Burlington with pain on her right side and a headache.

 

July 9-

At 7:34 p.m. a caller at the Woburn Public Library reported her cell phone was stolen from the children section of the library. She said she had placed it on a shelf while looking at a book and then left it behind when she went upstairs. When she went to retrieve it she found the phone was missing.

Police attempted to call the phone but it appears to have been turned off. The caller said the phone, a Samsung Illusion, was worth about $350.
