POLICE LOG: Alleged 'Officer' Demands Money

The following is an excerpt from the Woburn Police Department log. Please note that this is a sampling of activity in the log, not a complete account. We report all arrests included in the daily police log.

Featured Call of the Day:

Jan. 17 – At 4:28 p.m., a Woburn man reported he received a phone call from a man claiming to be “Officer John Smith.” The caller told the man that his wife owed $1,900 to a “criminal investigation department” and if she did not pay, she would be arrested. An officer tried to reach the caller several times using Caller ID. Each time, the man hung up on him without giving him any information.

Jan. 17 –

At 5:53 a.m., police were called to Washington Street for a two-car accident. According to police, a tractor trailer was turning onto the street out of a parking lot when the trailer was struck by a car on Washington Street. The driver told police she did not see the trailer due to “the dark roadway.” The truck driver told police the driver never slowed her speed before the crash. The woman was taken to Winchester Hospital with possible back and neck injuries. Her car was towed from the scene.

At 6:10 p.m., Norman Leo Jolicoeur, 43, of 19 John St. Apt. #1F in Malden, was arrested and charged on three outstanding warrants. According to police, Jolicoeur’s warrants stemmed from a harassment protection order violations in the city of Woburn. Jolicoeur was located by police in Somerville and was taken into custody.

At 6:48 p.m., police were called to a three-car accident on Main Street. According to police, one car was unable to stop in time and caused the crash. There were no reported injuries.

At 7:01 p.m., Lindsey Laura Dabrieo, 22, of 68 Wyman St., was arrested and charged with shoplifting over $100 by concealing merchandise. According to police, Dabrieo was caught with several pieces of concealed merchandise by Kohls employees. A purse was also found in Dabrieo’s vehicle, said police.

At 10:29 p.m., police responded to a domestic dispute. According to police, a couple argued over the husband’s intoxicated state. The woman asked police to remove him from the property. The man left without incident, said police.
