POLICE LOG: 'Bizarre' Man Demands Fake Arm

The following is an excerpt from the Woburn Police Department log. Please note that this is a sampling of activity in the log, not a complete account. We report all arrests included in the daily police log.

Featured Call of the Day:

Sept. 26 – At 8:16 a.m., police responded to a West Cummings Park business for a report of an unwanted party. According to police, a man entered the facility in March and again on Sept. 24 and asked to purchase a prosthetic arm. The employee explained how prosthetic limbs are prescribed by a doctor and then purchased. The employee told police that the man was “extremely confrontational” and “persistent to the point of being bizarre.” Police identified the man through his car registration and informed the employee how she could obtain a no trespass order.

Sept. 26 –

At 11:06 a.m., a Woburn business owner reported a neighbor threatened him in conversation. According to police, the neighbor was upset at how fast the business owner was driving on the street.

At 12:25 p.m., an Inwood Drive woman reported her debit card was used without her permission in Florida.

At 3:27 p.m., a Spring Court Extension woman reported a possible harassment protection order violation. According to police, the woman said another spoke to a third party and tried to relay information to her. The third party told police the she did not speak to the other woman about the caller.

At 3:58 p.m., a Dracut man entered the police station to report he needed his belongings from a Woburn home, but his ex-girlfriend would not give them to him. Police spoke to the woman who said that the man owes her $300 and when he paid, she would bring his belongings to the police station.

At 4 p.m., police responded to a two-car accident on Prospect Street. According to police, one of the drivers had a suspended registration. Police confiscated the license plates of the driver’s vehicle. The man told police he would contact the Registry of Motor Vehicles regarding the registration status.

At 5:24 p.m., police returned to the Spring Court Extension for a report of harassing texts. The woman involved in the earlier call stated that she has received several harassing text messages from the woman who has taken out a harassment protection order against her. The woman told police she has had no contact with the woman.  

At 9:19 p.m., Miguel A. Gragirenes, 24, of 48 Moore St. Second Floor in Haverhill, was arrested and charged with possession of a Class B drug (cocaine). According to police, there was a report of a “suspicious” person in the Hill Street area. Police reported that Gragirenes told the officer he was parked in the area until 9:30 p.m. because “something big was going on” at that time. The man told police that he had marijuana in his possession. Upon further questioning, the man told police that he had sold both marijuana and cocaine to people at the Best Western Hotel.

Sept. 27 –

At 12:04 a.m., a Woburn woman reported she was driving straight on Cambridge Road when she lost control of her vehicle, hit a curb and blew out a tire. According to police, the car spun out of control and wound up in a Cambridge Road driveway, damaging the front yard, a residential lamppost and a parked vehicle. Police reported the driver left the area to report the accident, but police had responded to another call regarding the accident.
