POLICE LOG: Chihuahua Killed by Pit Bull While on Walk

An excerpt from the WPD police log. The following arrest information was supplied by the Woburn Police Department. The arrest does not indicate a conviction.

At 4:36 p.m. a woman came to the station to report a dog attack. She said that on Thursday, June 27 she was walking her chihuahua in the evening when it was attacked and killed by a pit bull. She said she knew the owner of the pit bull and that they live in the neighborhood.

Police informed the woman the report will be followed up by Woburn Animal Control.

Other Incidents

July 12-

At 4:04 p.m. police responded to GNC in the Woburn Mall on a report of a past theft. Loss prevention employees stated that they were called to look into missing money. As they were investigating they noticed the May 7 deposit was $145.90 short and the May 9 deposit was $57.13 short. The same manager was in charge of the deposit on both days. Loss prevention said they believed the manager was skimming either the register or the deposit itself.

Police spoke to the manager in question who denied any responsibility at first but changed his story after confronted with the paperwork. He claimed he was not trained properly. The manger was subsequently let go and a copy of the report was given to the store for possible follow-up action.

 

At 7:57 p.m. a man came to the station to report lost or stolen property. He said that on July 6 he had left his Nintendo 3DS XL on a table at Uno’s Bar and Grille and when he returned less than twenty minutes later it was gone. He said he needed a police report for an insurance claim.

 

July 13-

At 8:20 a.m. police responded to a Court Street location on a report of damage to a motor vehicle. Police met with the owner who showed that the left rear window of the vehicle had been smashed. Nothing was stolen from the vehicle. The caller said he had no idea who would vandalize his vehicle.

 

At 11:27 a.m. a woman came to the station to report a possible stalking situation. She said that a former boyfriend, who she had met when she was 16 years old and he was a coach at her school, contacted her again after 23 years with an apology letter. She said that during the relationship she had been abused mentally, physically and emotionally by the man. He had also followed her from apartment to apartment until she finally lost contact with him. She said she’s concerned he’ll try to make further contact now.

Police informed her of her of the process of applying for a restraining order if contact continues.

 

July 14-

At 7:41 a.m. Police responded to a Plympton Street location on a report of damage t a motor vehicle. Police spoke to the caller who showed police his van that had a broken rear window. The caller said the damage happened the night before sometime between 10 p.m. and 7:30 a.m. Nothing was taken from the building.

There was also an orange road cone next to the vehicle that was not owned by the caller. It appears the cone was taken from a local construction site and thrown out of a vehicle at the van.
