POLICE LOG: Dead Raccoon Used to Harass?

The following is an excerpt from the  log. Please note that this is a sampling of activity in the log, not a complete account. We report all arrests included in the daily police log.

Featured Call of the Day:

Aug. 27 – At 3:23 p.m., police responded to a report of harassment on Salem Street. According to police, a woman told the responding officer that a neighbor left a dead raccoon on her property overnight. The officer reported the raccoon was “in such a state of decomposition that it appeared to have died in that spot and was not placed there.” The animal control officer also responded to the scene and reported that the animal had likely been there for days, said police.

Aug. 27 –

At 8:23 a.m., police responded to a three-car accident involving a bicyclist. According to police, a cyclist was crossing Cabot Road at Commerce Way, when a car slowed to take a turn and allow the bike to cross. A second car rear-ended the first vehicle, causing a chain reaction accident. There were no reported injuries.  

At 8:39 a.m., Enemias Pinto, 31, of 16 Prospect St. Apt. #1, was arrested and charged with unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and a marked lanes violation. According to police, Pinto was observed passing several vehicles on the right while driving through the Main and Campbell streets intersection.

At 9:18 a.m., a woman reported her two debit cards were used over the weekend in California without her permission.

At 10:07 a.m., a Minot Road man reported his car broken into overnight. According to police, several items were taken, including prescription drugs and a GPS.

At 10:41 a.m., a Sheridan Street man reported his car broken into overnight. According to police, a laptop computer was taken from the car’s tailgate. Police said that other items of value were left in the car and were not taken.

At 5:52 p.m., a Michigan woman reported her car damaged while it was parked in the Marriott parking lot on Presidential Way. According to police, the car has two dents and sneaker prints on it. Police observed the prints and said they appear to be from a size 12 shoe.

At 8:08 p.m., a woman reported receiving threats via the phone by a former boyfriend.

At 8:28 p.m., a Plympton Street woman reported her car damaged while it was parked on the street.
