POLICE LOG: First-Name Babysitter Fights With Parent

An excerpt from the WPD police log. The following arrest information was supplied by the Woburn Police Department. The arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Jan. 15 – At 6:27 p.m., police responded to a report of a disturbance at a Salem Street apartment. According to police, a man reported arguing with a woman over babysitting payments. The man told police that he has known the woman for three years and she babysits for his child, but he does not know her last name. The woman left the apartment prior to police arrival.

Jan. 15 –

At 1:39 p.m., a Woburn woman reported receiving two harassing letters from an incarcerated man. According to police, the letters contained “vulgarities and threats.” Police spoke to a captain at the man’s prison about the incident.

At 6:05 p.m., police received a report of fraud through a Woburn man’s iTunes account. According to police, an unknown person accessed the man’s account and charged over $300 in fraudulent purchases.

At 6:44 p.m., police responded to Howard Court for a car-break. According to police, a car window had been broken. The car door was left ajar by the suspect, but nothing was taken.

At 6:46 p.m., police were called to Bird Street for a report of dumping. According to police, when the officer arrived, he found a man disposing of evergreens. The officer observed only plantlife and nothing toxic or non-biodegradable being dumped. There were no signs in the area to prohibit dumping, said police.

At 9:43 p.m., during routine patrol police observed a car parked in the Courtyard Marriot parking lot with the occupant inside. A check of the license plate revealed the driver had several entries on his record, including firearms possession. Police approached the driver, who had his license and registration ready. Police found that the man had a marijuana pipe and confiscated that, another pipe, a scale and other paraphernalia. The man told police he was a marijuana user, but did not sell drugs. Due to the fact the man was not impaired or intoxicated and had a valid license, the drug paraphernalia was confiscated and he was told to leave the area.
