POLICE LOG: Friends Fight, Scratch Each Other

An excerpt from the WPD police log. The following arrest information was supplied by the Woburn Police Department. The arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Aug. 23 – At 5:34 p.m., officers were called to Granny Smith Lane and Elm Street for a report of a fight in a vehicle. According to police, a man and a woman were arguing in a car and began scratching at each other. Police said the friends were uncooperative with police and said they did not want to pursue the issue. The woman was given a ride to a bus stop and the man left the scene in his own vehicle.

Other Incidents:

Aug. 23 –

At 3:25 p.m., a Woburn woman reported her car damaged while it was parked on Arlington Road overnight. Police believe that another car backed into the parked car, causing damage to the front wheel area.

At 4:32 p.m., police responded to a report of an argument in the Citizens Bank parking lot on Commerce Way. According to police, a man and woman were arguing about money issues in the parking lot, but told officers it was verbal only. Both people left the area and police advised them to stay away from each other for the night so they could cool off.

At 5:13 p.m., police were dispatched to the Woburn Mall parking lot for a minor accident. According to police, both vehicles were traveling slowly in the lot when they collided as one was turning into the travel lane. There were no reported injuries.  

At 5:55 p.m., police responded to a two-car accident at the Route 128/38 rotary. According to police, one car rear-ended another on the off-ramp. There were no reported injuries. Police reported that the second car experienced brake failure, causing the crash. It was towed from the scene, said police.

At 8:49 p.m., police were dispatched to Felton Street for a report of an argument outside the house. According to police, a man and woman argued over custody issues. Police restored peace and reported that the children involved appeared well taken care of and were in the house before officers left.
