Police Log: Internet Scam Reported on Washington Street

Monday, April 21

At 4:24 p.m., a person reported a possible Internet scam on Washington Street. Police spoke to a person who said he agreed to rent a property for $1,000 per month. However, the property is not for rent. Police tried to contact the fraudulent property owner, but there was no answer. Police also spoke to the actual property owner, who said this has happened before.

 

Tuesday, April 22

At 9:41 p.m., police responded to Webster Avenue about a fight in which a person talked about a gun. Police responded and pulled over a vehicle that matched the description. One of the people in the vehicle acknowledged taking part in the fight and that the combatants shook hands after the fight. He said only “personal weapons” were used and he did not want to press charges. Meanwhile, other officers spoke to the other combatant, who echoed the story. He also did not want to press charges.
