Police Log: Man Overstays His Welcome

Monday, July 7

At 11:11 a.m., a victim of an earlier assault and battery told police that the alleged attacker’s father made threats toward her outside Woburn District Court. Police spoke to the father who denied making any threats and said no heated words were exchanged. Police told both sides to not have contact with one another.

At 12:12 p.m., police responded to Winn Street after a two-car accident. One motorist tried to cross over Pleasant Street when it collided with another vehicle. There were no injuries, but there was extensive damage to both vehicles. Both vehicles were towed.

Tuesday, July 8

At 12:25 a.m., police responded to Cummings Avenue in regards to an unwanted guest. Police spoke to a person at the residence who said a man had been staying with her family for four months and now refused to leave. She said she bought the man a plane ticket to go back to Chicago, but he refused to go and locked himself in his bedroom. Police spoke to the man, who said he would be happy to leave at 5 a.m. when the woman had offered to drive him to the airport. Police asked the woman to call them if the man refused to leave at 5 a.m.
