Police Log: Man Steals Grandfather’s Checks, Writes $2,500 Worth of Checks

An excerpt from the WPD police log. The following arrest information was supplied by the Woburn Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Wednesday, Feb. 5

At 12:10 p.m., police responded to a motor vehicle crash at Pleasant Street and Wolcott road. A motorist lost control of her car with the snowy conditions and struck a plow. Police found she had a canceled registration. They cited her for operating an unregistered motor vehicle. There were no injuries.

 

Thursday, Feb. 6

At 11:49 a.m., police arrested Jennifer Deal, 44, 3 Dewey Ave., Woburn, and charged her on two warrants for operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and operating an unregistered motor vehicle. Police made the arrest on Eaton Avenue after running her plate.

At 12:51 p.m., police responded to a Woburn home about a possible domestic incident. An elderly resident told police that his 32-year-old grandson stole nine checks from him and wrote checks for $2,514. The man said his grandson has been stealing from him for the past couple of months. Police told the man to cancel his checking account and they advised him to press charges against his grandson and the grandson's girlfriend.

At 2:10 p.m., police summonsed a 22-year-old Woburn man to court and charged him with three counts of malicious damaged to a motor vehicle. The man reportedly vandalized vehicles High Street in January.
