POLICE LOG: Missing Teen Found After Beating

The following is an excerpt from the Woburn Police Department log. Please note that this is a sampling of activity in the log, not a complete account. We report all arrests included in the daily police log.

Jan. 7 – At 5:48 p.m., a 17-year-old Webster Ave. woman was arrested and charged with assault and battery and malicious destruction of property over $250. According to police, officers were called to Pearl Street for a fight between teenagers. When police arrived, an officer found three young women on the sidewalk. One girl was crying and had a ripped shirt, said police. The victim told the officer she had been “jumped” and the Webster Ave. teen hit her repeatedly and broke her phone. Police reported that some people left their homes when they heard the commotion and yelled at the girls to stop fighting. The 17-year-old fled the scene at that time in a vehicle, said police. She was located at a North Maple Street home and was taken into custody. Police learned that the Webster Ave. teen was listed as a missing person by her mother, who was notified and informed of the teen’s situation.

Jan. 6 –

At 7:36 a.m., police responded to a two-car accident at the Route 128 rotary on Main Street. According to police, one car rear-ended another when the first car yielded to oncoming traffic. The first driver was taken to the hospital and his car was towed. The second driver was cited for following too closely and was determined to be at fault, said police.

Jan. 7 –

At 12:25 p.m., police responded to a two-car accident on Washington Street. According to police, one driver failed to yield to the right of way while exiting a parking lot. There were no reported injuries. No tows were needed, said police.

At 4:58 p.m., a Main Street woman reported credit card fraud. According to police, the woman’s card had been used several times without her permission in Michigan. 

At 7:34 p.m., police were called to Cambridge Road for an ongoing dispute regarding property boundaries. According to police, a woman reported a chain link fence and set of stairs were removed without her permission. The neighbor told police he had sent her numerous letters through an attorney to remove the items from his property. When the woman did not, he had a contractor remove them, said police. The woman told police she was unable to remove the items because of “no trespassing” signs on the neighbor’s property. Police advised both people to contact their attorneys for appropriate action.
