POLICE LOG: Multiple Vehicle Break-Ins Reported in Single Neighborhood

An excerpt from the WPD police log. The following arrest information was supplied by the Woburn Police Department. The arrest does not indicate a conviction.

The following is an excerpt from the Woburn Police Department log. Please note that this is a sampling of activity in the log, not a complete account. We report all arrests included in the daily police log.

At 6:10 p.m. police responded a Russell Street residence on a report of a vehicle break-in. Police spoke to the callers who said that sometime the night before someone entered his vehicle and stole his sunglasses. His wife said someone had also entered her unlocked vehicle and stole a bill presenter with numerous gift cards, coupons and credit cards.

While in the area two neighbors came up and told police their vehicles had also been broken into. One man said someone entered his girlfriend’s unlocked vehicle and stole $300 headphones. Another man said someone broke into his locked vehicle and took a $951 leather and suede Red Sox jacket, $100 in twenties, and a disc binder with 500 CDs.

Another woman came up and told police said someone took a GPS unit from her unlocked vehicle.

One man found a “Slim Jim” on his property and showed it to police.

Police advised everyone to lock their doors and to report any suspicious people they see in the area.

Other Incidents

June 28-

At 1:09 p.m. police responded to Bridgehead Software at 400 West Cumming Park on a report of a stolen check.

Police spoke to the caller who reported that the company was informed by its bank of a possible misuse of their bank card. The card had been used on several occasions the day before, including a $492.60 charge, a $600 charge, and a $601.64 charge, all at the Target in Framingham. There were also a $93.37 charge at the Natick Banana Republic and a $510.25 charge at a CVS in Waltham.

The company still had possession of the card.

The caller said the company had also been informed by a Burlington business that a check for $5,369 was deposited in their account from a stolen ATM card from Bridgehead Software’s account.

 

June 29-

At 9:40 a.m. police responded to an Ash Street residence on a report of a past threat. The caller said her ex-husband was at the house the night before and got upset and smashed a lamp. That morning she said he took her credit card and left and that while leaving he knocked the side mirror off her vehicle.

Police found the man and detained him. He gave them back the credit card and they told him to not go back to the residence if he was going to act that way. They also informed the caller of her rights to obtain an abuse prevention order.

 

At 1:37 p.m. police responded to a Porter Street residence on a report of an injured man. When police arrived they found a male with a kitchen style knife stuck in his abdomen. Police asked if he did it to himself and he said he did and that he “hears voices.” The man’s daughter said the man is on many medications and has stabbed himself before. Police stabilized the blade and Woburn Fire transported the man.
