Police Log: Number of Car Accidents Reported

Tuesday, Feb. 4

At 6:51 p.m., police responded to Main Street after a two-car accident. The driver of one vehicle said his vehicle lost braking power and collided with another car. Police saw a large amount of brake fluid underneath the vehicle.

At 7:11 p.m., police responded to Eaton Avenue after a three-car accident. Three vehicles were stopping on Eaton Avenue at Mishawum Road when the rear car struck the middle vehicle, which then struck the first vehicle. Two of the vehicles had heavy damage and were towed. There were no reported injuries. The driver in the rear vehicle received a written warning for failing to use caution.

At 9:24 p.m., a Richardson Street resident reported someone struck her parked vehicle. Police found moderate damage to the vehicle. It appeared the vehicle was side-swiped.

Wednesday, Feb. 5

At 10:30 a.m., an employee at A.C. Moore called police about two customers possibly under the influence and one of them may have struck a toddler while he was putting him in a stroller. A cab company employee reported transporting them to Staples and also said they appeared under the influence. Police spoke to them at Staples. The officer found that one of them appeared intoxicated and he acknowledged he was on medication. Police spoke to him and believe the man may have been overmedicated. The child was not injured and police did not believe the child was in danger. Police had a cab take them to their Main Street home.

At 12:49 p.m., police responded to Salem Street about a motor vehicle accident. Three vehicles passed a slow-moving backhoe that belongs to the Woburn Cemetery Commission. The driver in the third car said the backhoe took a sudden left into the Woodbrook Cemetery, which caused the motorist in the third car to slide off the road and hit a tree at the cemetery’s entrance. There was major damage to the vehicle. There were no reported injuries.
