Police Log: Officers Respond to a Call for Man With a Gun

Friday, June 13

At 10:12 a.m., a Prospect Street resident reported graffiti on her condo building. Police will increase patrols in the area.

At 11:04 p.m., police placed a 40-year-old Lowell man into protective custody after a report of a man under the influence at the 99 restaurant.

Saturday, June 14

At 8:15 p.m., police placed a 33-year-old Woburn man into protective custody after police received a call about an unconscious man in the roadway at Franklin and Flagg streets.

At 10:18 a.m., a Place Lane resident reported an iPod was stolen from an unlocked vehicle.

At 12:03 p.m., police responded to Carlene Terrace and Washington Street after a report of a man brandishing a handgun. Police pulled over two vehicles that matched the description. Because the call was about a man with a gun, police unholstered their firearms and approached the vehicles. A passenger in one of the vehicles said his friend showed a toy gun on Washington Street. Officers had the man call his friend who went back to Washington Street and gave the toy gun to police. Police informed the person of the danger involved with showing a toy gun and the fear that he caused.

At 10:42 p.m., police placed a 45-year-old Woburn man into protective custody after a report of an intoxicated man on Flagg Street.

 

Sunday, June 15

At 1:09 a.m., police arrested Milton Liriano, no age given, 16 Flagg St., Apt. 2, Woburn, and charged him with disturbing the peace and resisting arrest. Police made the arrest after a report of a disturbance at a Flagg Street home. Police spoke to Liriano who was reportedly aggressive  and yelled at police. He also threw his cell phone that narrowly missed several people. Police asked Liriano to go back into his apartment, but he continued to yell and swear at officers. Police made the arrest.

At 6:10 p.m., police arrested Jonathan Steven Philipe, no age given, 15 Davis St, Woburn, and charged him with domestic assault and battery.

At 8:48 p.m., police placed a 62-year-old Woburn man into protective custody after a report of an unwanted person at a Pearl Street residence. The resident said the man had been staying with him, but he had overstayed his welcome.
