Aug. 14 – At 10:10 a.m., a Webster Avenue man reported his car damaged while parked. According to police, two of the car’s tires had been slashed and the word “RAT” was scratched into the hood of the car. Police said there was a palm print near the scratched word. Detectives are investigating.

At 12:20 p.m., police responded to a two-car accident at Common and Main streets. According to police, a truck turned into the travel lane and caught the right front quarter of a car stopped in traffic.
At 4:17 p.m., a Woburn woman reported purchases made with her debit card without her permission. According to police, the suspect made over $500 in purchases.
At 5:15 p.m., police responded to a four-car accident on Montvale Avenue near Wendy’s. According to police, a car exiting the Wendy’s parking lot entered southbound traffic and was struck by a car traveling south. Police reported the driver said she could not brake in time to avoid the collision. Two other cars stopped in traffic were also struck during the accident. There were no major injuries reported.
At 9:14 p.m., officers assisted the Boston Police and Massachusetts State Police with a reported stolen car. According to police, the car was found in the Royal Towing yard, heavily damaged and missing parts.
At 10:06 p.m., a 17-year-old Woburn man was taken into protective custody. According to police, officers responded to a report of a teenager out of control. When police arrived, they found a woman holding down the teenager, who was drunk and pushing and flailing his arms and legs. Police called an ambulance, but the teen refused medical treatment. He was taken into protective custody.
At 11:28 p.m., Beatrice Ortiz, 27, of 6 Kimball Court Apt. #114, was arrested and charged with assault and battery (domestic), assault and battery on a police officer (three counts), malicious damage to a motor vehicle (police cruiser) and resisting arrest.
