Police Log: Resident Reports of Verizon Scam

Monday, Feb 17

At 2:15 p.m., a Woburn resident reported a person called him claiming to be from Verizon. The caller said the man’s last payment wasn’t received and that his service would be terminated if he didn't pay. The Woburn man refused and called Verizon to confirm that there wasn't an issue. The man also checked his accounts and found four separate fraudulent charges totaling $425.

 

Tuesday, Feb. 18

At 7:54 a.m., an employee of a Wheeling Avenue business reported that 14 aluminum gates were stolen.

At 10:28 a.m., police received a call from a man who said his car was keyed while parked at the Woburn Mall on Sunday.
