Police Log: RI Woman Charged With Shoplifting

At 5:10 p.m., police arrested David Kaplan, 37, 6 Minot St., Wakefield, and charged him with domestic assault and battery.

Friday, July 4

At 6:02 p.m., police arrested Fred Sama Lefang, 44, 58 Webster Ave., Woburn, and charged him with domestic assault and battery.

At 9:46 p.m., police arrested Keith A. Sullivan, 60, 48 Lake Ave., Apt. 2BC, Woburn, and charged him on a warrant for a probation violation.

Saturday, July 5

At 3:01 p.m., police responded to a car accident on Revere Road. A driver reportedly struck a parked car, which caused the vehicle to roll over onto its roof. The driver, an 84-year-old Woburn woman, was taken to an area hospital. Both vehicles were towed.

At 5:29 p.m., police arrested John A. Byrd, 40, 11 Johnson St., Woburn, and charged him with operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license and on a warrant for operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license and failing to stop/yield. Police mad the arrest during a traffic stop on Main Street.

At 8:21 p.m., police responded to Glade Street after a family member stole checks and money. The man said that $3,520 was stolen from his bank account.

 

Sunday, July 6

At 6:21 p.m., police arrested Barbara Cabral, 33, 31 Paradis Ave., Apt. 2, Woonsocket, RI, and charged her with larceny more than $250. Police said Cabral took items from throughout the store and put them into a cooler inside her cart. She tried to leave the store without paying for the items. She showed a receipt at the door in hopes that Target staff wouldn’t stop her, but security stopped her just before she got into the parking lot. She reportedly tried to steal more than 20 items that totaled nearly $600.

At 6:23 p.m., police placed an intoxicated 44-year-old Woburn man into protective custody after a report of an unwanted person on Floyd Street. 

At 9:04 p.m., police responded to Main Street at the Route 128 Rotary after a motorcyclist lost control and slid across the roadway. The driver said his vehicle slid on a substance in the roadway. Police were unable to find any substance that may have caused the crash. The man suffered a small cut on his finger. His motorcycle sustained damage to the body and handlebars, but he was able to drive it from the scene.
