Police Log: Shoplifters Steal More Than $1,000 Worth of Smartphone Cases

At 12:44 p.m., police arrested Ryan C. Greenwood, 29, 117 Boston Road, Chelmsford, and charged him on a warrant for operating a motor vehicle without insurance and operating a motor vehicle with a suspended registration. Police made the arrest after an officer saw a parked car facing the wrong direction on Washington Street. Police ran the car’s plate and found that there was a warrant for the vehicle owner’s arrest. Police made the arrest.

At 12:52 p.m., a Mount Pleasant Street resident reported receiving three FedEx packages that he did not order. Police took the packages and contacted FedEx.

At 3:03 p.m., a Woburn resident reported identity theft. He said someone tried to file for unemployment in Florida using his name. He said he did not apply for unemployment. Police took a report and suggested he contact his credit card companies as well as the major credit reporting agencies.

At 6:24 p.m., a Radio Shack employee reported two shoplifters stole more than $1,000 worth of smartphone cases. The two men stole 17 iPhone cases and six Samsung Note3 cases. The men may have had a magnetic key to remove some of the cases from the shelves. Police looked at the surveillance video and saw that one of the them took the items from the shelves and placed them inside his jacket pocket. The two men left the store, but store employees weren’t sure whether they left on foot or in a vehicle.

Saturday, March 29

At 3:54 a.m., police placed an intoxicated 25-year-old Lowell man into protective custody after a report of an unknown man banging on a Totman Drive residence.

At 2:28 p.m., police placed an intoxicated 37-year-old Woburn man into protective custody after a report of an unwanted person in a Main Street business. Police found the man sleeping under a stairwell. He smelled of alcohol, his speech was slurred and his eyes were bloodshot. Police placed him into protective custody.

At 8:40 p.m., police arrested Tammy Joan Deniso, 38, 59 Prospect St., Apt. 3, Woburn, and charged her on a warrant for operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license. Police pulled over a vehicle at Main Street and Coolidge Road. Officers made the arrest after finding that a passenger in the vehicle, Deniso, had a warrant for her arrest.

At 11:07 p.m., police arrested Stephen John Callahan, 43, 40 Nichols St. Ext., Woburn, and charged him on a warrant for violating probation. Callahan turned himself in to police.

 

Sunday, March 30

At 12:37 a.m., police responded to a two-car accident at Pleasant and Winn streets. A driver was stopped at the stop sign on Pleasant Street. The driver proceeded after stopping and it struck a vehicle on Winn Street. The first vehicle sustained heavy front-end damage and the second vehicle sustained some damage to the passenger side front quarter and tire area. The driver of the first car suffered a chipped front tooth, a bloody nose and red marks on her face because of the airbag. Both vehicles were towed. The driver of the second car was cited for a stop sign violation.
