POLICE LOG: Teen Lies About Purse Theft

The following is an excerpt from the Woburn Police Department log. Please note that this is a sampling of activity in the log, not a complete account. We report all arrests included in the daily police log.

Oct. 2 –

At 8:09 p.m., a Woburn teen reported her purse stolen from the Dunkin’ Donuts in the center. According to police, she was sitting at table near the door when she placed her purse on the floor and walked away. When the woman returned, she reported, her purse and cell phone were missing. When police watched the surveillance footage of the eatery, they saw the teen walk out of the store with her purse and cell phone. Police informed the teen’s mother about the video.

Oct. 3 –

At 8:58 a.m., an Extra Space Storage employee reported he was threatened by a customer on Oct. 2.

At 9:08 a.m., police responded to a three-car crash on Route 95 South just past Exit 35. According to police, one car rear-ended another, causing a chain reaction. That driver was cited for following too closely, said police.

At 9:08 a.m., police responded to a car accident on Main Street in the downtown rotary. According to police, both cars involved were taking a left turn when they collided. There were no reported injuries.

At 10:09 a.m., a Creston Avenue woman reported a bottle of prescription Oxycodone was stolen from her apartment. Police said there was no evidence of a break-in or a crime committed.

At 5:11 p.m., police were called to a two-car accident on Mishawum Road near Kohl’s. According to police, one car rear-ended another while it was stopped at a red light.

At 5:15 p.m., a Woburn boy reported his bike stolen from the Stop & Shop parking lot earlier in the day. According to police, the boy had left the bike outside while he went in the store. When he returned, it was gone. The bike is a purple Haro bike with black tires and the number “200.3” printed on the frame.

At 10:01 p.m., a Woburn woman reported someone used her personal information to open an account with NStar. According to police, the account has an outstanding $60 balance. The woman told police there has been no other fraudulent activity on other personal accounts.
