At 7:52 a.m., police responded to Garrity Stone on Merrimac Street after an employee was injured by a piece of falling granite. A manager said workers were using a crane to move a large piece of granite from a stack. One piece on the stack fell and struck a worker in the legs. When the man fell, he struck his head on another piece of granite. Woburn Fire treated the man, who suffered scrapes on his shins and a small cut on the back of his head. He was taken to Lahey Clinic.
At 10:25 a.m., police responded to Kimball Court after four tires were stolen from a vehicle. Police found the vehicle was on blocks and all four tires and rims were stolen. The car was also dented on the side where someone used a floor jack to lift the vehicle. The stolen tires and rims were estimated at about $2,500.
