POLICE LOG: Vehicle Stolen on Montvale Avenue

Jan. 22 - At 7:10 p.m. police responded to a call from the 7-11 on Montvale Avenue on a call of a stolen motor vehicle. Caller reported that he had left the car idling as he went into the store. The caller also reported noticing a dark-skinned male with tan Carhartt jacket and blue hooded sweatshirt come from around the building. There was also $1,200 in wresting gear and equipment in the vehicle.

Jan. 22 –

At 10:24 a.m. police responded to a call of a dumpster theft at Crown Lift Trucks. A manager stated a dumpster with roughly $2,000 worth of scrap metal inside was taken. A lock on a gate was removed to gain entrance and police saw tire tracks in the snow. The dumpster is marked with “495 Truck” and the Auto Recycling logo.

At 5:14 p.m. a party came to the station to report his wallet was stolen from a locker at the North Suburban YMCA on Lexington St. sometime this afternoon. Credit cards, a bank card, drivers license, membership cards and $50 in cash were taken.

At 6:32 p.m. police responded to a Maple Street home for a call of harassment. Caller stated she had been receiving numerous text message and calls from a known male who she knew about 10 years ago. According to the caller the male showed up at her house on Dec. 2 very intoxicated and while he left when asked he left his cell phone behind. The caller stated she mailed the phone but the male is now saying he never received it. In past few days he has sent numerous text message and calls to the reporting party. Caller stated she feels threatened by the messages. Male has also made threats to show up the her house and in one message wrote “find the phone or write a check for $300”

Caller advised of her right to seek a harassment prevention order. Police also advised her to call 911 if the male shows up at her house.
