Police Log: Woburn Driver Charged After Striking Pole, Walking Away From Scene

Friday, June 27

At 2:55 p.m., a lodger at the Red Roof Inn reported that her wallet was stolen from a room. She said she switched rooms and mistakenly left behind her wallet. When she returned to get the wallet with management, the wallet was gone. The wallet contained $400, her license, an ATM card and a cred card.

At 6:21 p.m., police arrested Walter Leoandro Dos Santos, 19, 10 Pleasant St. Apt. 1, Wakefield, and charged him on three warrants for breaking and entering in the daytime for a felony, breaking and entering in the daytime for a felony/putting person in fear, malicious destruction of property more than $250 and two counts of larceny from a building. Dos Santos turned himself into police at Woburn Police Station.

At 8:46 p.m., police arrested Dennis David Carney, 33, 2 Crescent Ave., Woburn, and charged him on a warrant for two counts of operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license and failing to wear a seat belt.

Saturday, June 28

At 5:54 p.m., police arrested Robert M. Perry Jr., 57, 68 Hampden St., Apt. 3D, Boston, and charged him on a warrant for breaking and entering for a misdemeanor and larceny less than $250. Police made the arrest after a report of an intoxicated man causing a disturbance at Applebee's.

At 5:55 p.m., police placed a 42-year-old Woburn woman into protective custody after a report of an intoxicated woman in the middle of Richardson Street.

 

Sunday, June 29

At 12:38 a.m., police responded to Totman Drive about a loud group in the street. There were reportedly about 150 people in the street and motorcycles were racing up and down the street. Police notified Winchester Police and State Police for potential backup. When police arrived, they found out the people were there for a candlelight vigil for David Czarnota, who was recently killed in a motorcycle accident. Some of the people objected to police being there and Winchester and State Police were called to the scene to help disperse the group. Police were on scene for more than an hour before the street was cleared.

At 4:25 a.m., police responded to Clinton Street and Mishawum Road after a truck struck a telephone pole. The driver left her vehicle, and walked home. Police spoke to the 34-year-old and she was transported to Winchester Hospital for an evaluation. She was cited with leaving the scene of a property damage accident and operating a motor vehicle after her license was suspended.

At 5:56 p.m., a Main Street resident reported that a neighbor was killing his plants. He said a neighbor has been poisoning his flowers and cutting his trees.

At 6:50 p.m., police arrested Jackgillbert L. Bucknam, 27, 3 Kearsage Ave., Apt. 1, and charged him on a warrant for larceny less than $250 and trespassing, and Taja Rae Angi, 25, 3 Kearsage Ave., Apt. 1, and charged her on a warrant for keeping a disorderly house. Police made the arrests during a traffic stop on Main Street.
