Police Log: Woburn Woman Charged With Attempted Murder

Tuesday, May 13

At 2:42 p.m., a West Marine employee reported that a shoplifter stole two LED lights. The suspect placed the lights into his jacket and left the store. There was a driver waiting for him and they left the area.

 

Wednesday, May 14

At 11:19 a.m., police responded to a two-car accident at Olympia Avenue and Washington Street. A driver said he pulled his vehicle forward at a red light so that a tractor-trailer could make the turn. Another vehicle driving straight on a green light struck the car. The driver of the car that moved for the tractor-trailer was cited for failing to stop for a red light. One driver complained of a headache, but declined medical attention. One vehicle was towed.

At 2:48 p.m., police arrested Alissa Rose Curtin, 28, 2 David Circle, Woburn, and charged her with attempted murder. Police made the arrest after the report of a domestic disturbance. Curtin reportedly tried to strangle a loved one.

At 5:23 p.m., police placed a 33-year-old Woburn man into protective custody. Police responded to Main Street concerning an intoxicated man. Police saw the man stumble and vomit on the sidewalk. Police offered him medical attention and a ride home, but he refused and said he wanted to buy a slice of pizza. Police placed the man into protective custody.

At 9:04 p.m. police placed a 62-year-old North Reading man into protective custody. Police responded to Mishawum Road about a man sitting in front of a store. Police arrived and could smell alcohol. When asked if he had been drinking, the man acknowledged “Yah, I’m (expletive) hammered.” Police placed him into protective custody.
