Rash of Car Break-Ins Reported Around Woburn

Multiple residents reported items stolen from their vehicles in recent days, and several of the callers had their windows smashed in by the alleged criminal.

On Wednesday, Nov. 6, a woman said that someone had taken her laptop from her vehicle overnight while it was parked in front of her house on Kennedy Road. The computer was valued at about $300.

The same day, a Princeton Road resident said that she left her Volkswagon Jetta in her driveway overnight and upon returning to the car she found that her iPhone and Bank of America debit card were missing, along with some loose change.

Police also received several calls on Thursday, Nov. 7, for similar incidents in the city.

According to a Montvale Road resident, her husband went outside at about 4 a.m. and found papers scattered on the ground around the vehicle. Upon checking the vehicle, the resident discovered $60 cash missing. While speaking to the caller, a neighbor came up to police and said they had $20 taken from their vehicle recently as well.

On Presidential Way, a resident said that his vehicle was in a parking lot from 5:30 p.m. to 6:40 p.m. and when he returned, the rear driver's side window had been smashed. It did not appear anything had been taken.

The final report police received on Thursday was at Boston Sports Club where a resident had been parked in the lot from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Upon returning to his vehicle, the resident said his rear passenger side window was smashed and a laptop had been stolen from the rear compartment.
