Emergency Crews Suspend Search for Missing Boater at Horn Pond

Crews are still on the scene performing a water rescue.

As of 7:30 p.m. when Woburn Patch was on-scene emergency crews continue to search for a man who they believe is in the water following a canoe accident. According to Woburn Police the missing person is a 30-year-old male. Another person in the canoe was rescued and transported to Winchester Hospital.

According to reports there are now six divers in the water searching for the man.

UPDATED, 7:03 p.m.: One person has been pulled from Horn Pond in Woburn, according to Woburn Police.

Crews have launched a rescue raft to remove a second individual, according to Woburn Patch Editor Richard Hosford.

Updated 6:30 p.m.:

Police are now re-routing vehicle traffic away from the scene to allow emergency crews better access and egress. Avoid the area if you can.

Woburn and area emergency crews are responding to Horn Pond on reports of an overturned canoe.

According to scanner and Twitter reports a canoe overturned and emergency crews are heading out in a boat for the possibility of one or two people in the water.

Two divers from Stoneham Fire Department are also being called.
