Robbery Reported at Citizens Bank on Montvale Avenue

An excerpt from the WPD police log. The following arrest information was supplied by the Woburn Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

The following is an excerpt from the Woburn Police Department log. Please note that this is a sampling of activity in the log, not a complete account. We report all arrests included in the daily police log.

August 2- 

At 2:36 p.m. police responded to the Citizens Bank at 331 Montvale Avenue on a report of a bank robbery.

A teller said a white male who was in line approached his window and passed him a note. The note read “this is a robbery, I need both drawers, give me 20s, 50s and 100s, no dye packs or I will shoot your (not intact).”

The suspect was described as a white male approximately 5’7” with short blond hair and blue eyes. He also had a beard and mustache. He appeared to between 33-34 years old. He was wearing a dark ball cap with a log on the brim, a dark sweatshirt, shorts, sneakers and clear cook-type gloves.

July 31-

At 8:49 p.m. police and fire responded to 70 Dragon Court on a report of a truck fire. When police arrived they found a pickup truck fully engulfed in flames. The owner was on scene and said he did not know what caused the fire.

Woburn Fire extinguished the flames and cleared the building the truck was parked next to until they deemed it safe for people to re-enter.

 

August 1-

At 11:16 a.m. the TD Bank North on Montvale Avenue requested assistance for an accidental discharge of a dye pack. The caller said a customer had drawn money from the bank and as she entered her vehicle a dye pack with red dye exploded on the passenger seat. It also left a burn mark on the seat.

The caller said they were unsure how the pack ended up in the customer’s bag.

 

At 11:18 a.m. police responded to a Main Street apartment on a call of past larceny. The caller, who works for the property management company that operates the apartments, said a fridge that comes with the apartment was gone. The caller said she had tried to contact the former tenant but was unsuccessful.

Police also tried to contact the former tenant but were unable to get her on the phone. The management company stated it would like the fridge back or it will pursue the issue in civil court.

 

At 1:45 p.m. police reported to the Porter and Chester Institute at 8 Presidential Way on a call of vandalism.

The caller, a teacher at the institute, showed police his Chevrolet Tahoe that had two flats on the right hand side of the vehicle. The caller said he started work at 6:40 a.m. and dismissed his class at 12:30 p.m. and noticed the slashed tires at 2 p.m. He said he had disciplined a couple of students but has no evidence as to who did the vandalism.

 

At 5:25 p.m. police responded to a domestic incident in town. The caller said her husband was intoxicated and kicked in the front door to their home. The woman said they had a fight because he was with a prostitute the night before. Police also seized a machete that was on the kitchen table that the caller said was her husband’s and asked police to take for safekeeping.

The man left with a friend for the night.

 

At 7:19 p.m. police responded to a West Dexter Avenue residence on a report of a stolen miniature motorbike. The caller said her son’s miniature motorcycle was stolen from their shed sometime within the past couple of weeks. The bike is a red miniature motorcycle similar to a classic motorcycle in design. It is worth approximately $400. 

 

August 2-

At 11:17 a.m. a woman came to the station to report that she believes someone has stolen or is attempting to steal her identity. She showed police an envelope from Direct TV that had a copy of her banks statement inside. She said she does not have an account with Direct TV and she could tell the bank statement was a copy due to the paper quality. It also appeared the envelope had been opened and re-glued shut. Her bank did not know what had happened and told her to call police.

At 5:18 p.m. a caller at the YMCA stated his iPhone 5 was stolen while it was on a bench while he was playing basketball. Police to follow up with the YMCA management to check surveillance tapes.

 

At 9:51 p.m. a woman came to the lobby to report a breaking and entering of her motor vehicle. The woman stated that her vehicle had been broken into sometime between July 30 and July 31 while it was parked in her driveway. She noticed someone had entered her vehicle and gone through the glove box and had taken her purse from the back seat. The purse was worth about $300 and a silver COACH bag worth $650 was also stolen.
