Storm Knocks Out Power, Brings Down Trees, Wires

More storms possible on Tuesday.

The wild weather that barreled through the area on Monday afternoon knocked down countless trees and wires in Woburn.

Wires that fell from a pole on Conn Street even caused a small fire, which firefighters extinguished.

Many Woburn streets were blocked by downed trees and limbs and some flooded from the heavy rain. Power outages were scattered throughout Woburn. As of 10 p.m. Monday, 600 NStar customers were still without power in the city.

Though the National Weather Service issued a tornado warning for the area, there were no tornadoes actually reported on Monday.

Weather forecasters are predicting a repeat on Tuesday afternoon. Severe thunderstorms are possible on Tuesday.
