The following is an excerpt from the Woburn Police Department log. Please note that this is a sampling of activity in the log, not a complete account.
According to a compilation of recent Woburn arrests, an 18-year-old resident was recently arrested for a variety of theft and drug charges.
The report indicates that Michael Anthony DaCosta, 18, of 97 Merrimac Street, Apt. 2, Woburn, was arrested on Sunday, Oct. 20.
DaCosta was charged with breaking and entering of a building nighttime for felony after he allegedly entered a home through a window that was left unlocked. As a result of the alleged incident, DaCosta is also charged with larceny over $250.
Additional charges against the Woburn man are possession of Class B drugs, shoplifting by concealing, and receiving stolen property.
In total, the police report indicates that DaCosta allegedly stole about $4,241 worth of items.
On Wednesday, Oct. 23, a resident came into the lobby to report that lightbulbs were stolen from his van.
The resident told police that the previous week a count was done in the van and there were 256 cases of lightbulbs present.
On Friday, Oct. 18, workers were at Marlow Hotel in Cambridge when they realized that upon arriving there were 54 cases of lightbulbs missing.
The man said he and another worker had loaded the van and parked it overnight in his driveway on Rumford Park Ave. At that point the man believes that someone stole the lightbulbs from his van.
According to the reporting party, there did not appear to be any forced entry to the van, and he was sure he locked it when he got home. The man said the lightbulbs were valued at $9,558.
