Other Incidents

July 22-

At 2:12 p.m. police responded to 4 Arrow Drive, Biosense Technologies, for a report of suspicious activity involving a chemical spill. Woburn Fire also responded.

Police spoke to the caller who said a chemical container had been over filled and was leaking in the lab area of the building. The chemical was identified as spent Chromic Acid, which the Woburn Fire Department determined to be non-hazardous.

The caller said he believes the over filling of the container was malicious and meant to do harm.

Employees said the over filling of the container happened between 12 and 1:30 p.m. and the liquid added to it to cause the spillage was unknown.

The caller said he believed a known neighbor, with which he has had issues with in the past, caused the over fill. There are past reports of unfounded incidents between the neighbors.

Police checked a surveillance video and saw no suspicious activity. There was no evidence the spill was a malicious or intentional act.

At 2:52 p.m. police responded to a Cedar Street location on a report of vandalism to a motor vehicle. Police spoke to the caller who showed police his vehicle and stated that someone had scratched the pain job. The scratches were on the driver side rear quarter area and appeared to be caused by a key or some sharp object.

The caller said he didn’t know when the damage happened but that he noticed it the day before.

Estimated cost of the damage was $1,000.

At 6:27 p.m. police responded to a Cedar Street residence on a report of larceny. The caller said he was away from July 12 to 14 and when he returned he could not find his 24”, 24K gold chain with a cross and Jesus on it. He said he thought he had misplaced it until his roommate said he was missing two bottles of new cologne.

The caller said their other roommate had some friends over during the weekend while he was away, some who he did know.

The caller said his roommate spoke with the guests after things were noticed to be missing and they all denied stealing anything.

Police said they would check the local pawn shops and inform detective of the missing chain in case they see something similar pawned.

The value of the chain was $400.
