Unarmed Robber Gets Nothing At Lowe's

One employee was injured during incident.

An unarmed robber attempted to get cash out of a Lowe’s register Tuesday afternoon, but was unsuccessful.

According to police, video surveillance footage shows that a man in a red hooded-sweatshirt, gloves and black pants entered the Garden Center at Lowe’s and tried to open the cash register. When he was approached by an employee, police said, the man knocked the woman down to the ground “violently.”

As the suspect continued to try to open the register, a customer approached the man, but only exchanged words.

“At that point, he realizes he cannot open it and he flees out of the store in an unknown direction,” reported Officer Michael Pacheco.

Police also saw a second suspect, described as a white male with brown hair, wearing blue jeans and black and white sneakers. That suspect was seen exiting the store on video surveillance footage.

According to police, the employee suffered a minor injury, but declined further medical attention.

Officers canvassed the area, speaking to witnesses at Market Basket, where one suspect was believed to have gone, and employees at Bertucci’s where the other suspect was thought to have fled. But after reviewing surveillance footage, police believe that neither suspect entered Market Basket.
