Vegas Trip Leads to Nearly $11,000 Theft From Woburn Man

On Wednesday, Oct. 23, an officer spoke to a man regarding his debit cards that were stolen during a trip to Las Vegas.

The man said that while on a trip the previous weekend, he was at the pool his his hotel. While there, his company debit card and personal debit card were both taken from his wallet, but the wallet was left behind.

The company card had charges totaling $6,963.91 on it before he noticed it was missing. The man said it was a few hours before he noticed the cards were missing. In addition, $4,731.57 was taken from his personal account.

Though the man called his bank as soon as he noticed the cards were missing, a total of $11,695.48 was already taken. The bank cancelled the cards and was investigating. 

While the man was not going to file a report with Woburn Police, his bank requested that he did.

Additional Incident

Walking into the lobby, a resident reported to police that his credit card had been fraudulently used.

According to the man, he lost his wallet at the beginning of the month, including a Citizens Bank debit card. The man reported the missing wallet to the Winchester Police Department, the town he lives in.

Citizens Bank reported to him that his card was used to make about 35 fraudulent purchases totaling about $2,000. One of the purchases came at Toys 'R' Us in Woburn on October 7. The card was used for about $105.66 of goods.
