Why Is There a Big Line of Police Cruisers on the Highway?

Did you see a caravan of police officers? No worries, it's not an emergency, it's a Christmas miracle.

As members of the Woburn Police and other New England police departments make their way to Virginia, some people are wondering what is up.

There have been tweets by people wondering why roughly 40 police cruisers have been traveling down the highway.

No worries, it isn't an emergency, it's a great initiative by local police to make the Christmas wish of a boy with cancer come true.

Follow their journey on Woburn Patch here.

As reported on Woburn Patch:

The boy is Nathan Norman, who, as reported on New Milford Patch, was diagnosed with brain cancer three years ago. Nathan lives with his family in Rustburg, Virginia.

Like most little boys, Nathan loves to watch cops, firemen and EMT's speed to calls in shiny cars and trucks —sirens blaring and lights flashing —making no stops as they race to save people.

This Christmas, Nathan is calling upon these heroes to make his wish come true by sending him cards, letters and patches —anything with a first responder insignia.

This morning hundreds of New England police officers gathered to not only send Nathan a card, but to hand deliver him many cards and pay him a special visit.

So if you see the police caravan you aren't being pulled over! Just honk your support and give them a wave!

The Burlington Police are trying to get as many people involved in this story as possible. They put out a call on Twitter to suggest anyone tweeting about the story use the hashtag #Cards4Nathan.
