Woburn Man Stabbed at New Year's Eve Party

Man taken to hospital with multiple stab wounds, according to police.

A Woburn man was stabbed several times during a New Year's Eve party in Vermont early this morning.

According to the Vermont State Police, Dennis Walsh, 30, of Woburn was stabbed "numerous" times at a party on East Mountain Road in Killington, VT.

Walsh was taken to the Rutland Regional Medical Center by friends.

Vermont State Police troopers responded to the East Mountain Road home at 6:26 a.m. Tuesday morning for a report of a "bloody male... located in a snow bank." When police arrived, they found Joseph Tannetta, a 32-year-old Massachusetts man, uninjured, and covered in blood that was not his.

Police spoke to Tannetta, Walsh and several party-goers, but said all were "uncooperative" and would only say that a fight had occurred at the party.

During the stabbing investigation, Brittany Coffey, 20, was arrested and charged with giving a false name, impeding a police officer and driving while intoxicated.

Vermont State Police continue to investigate the incident. Anyone with information should contact VSP Trooper Michael Tietz at (802) 773-9101.
