Woburn Police Memorial To Be Dedicated Today

On the two-year anniversary of Officer Jack Maguire's death, the city will dedicate a memorial to officers fallen in the line of duty.

Two years ago today, the city of Woburn lost one of its own—Officer John "Jack" Maguire, a Woburn Police veteran and son of a former police chief.

Today, the city will come together to honor Officer Maguire and others who "gave the ultimate sacrifice," with a permanent memorial outside the Woburn Police Station on Harrison Avenue.

Mayor Scott Galvin invited residents to attend the ceremony with the following invitation:

You are cordially invited to join Chief Robert Ferullo and members of the Woburn Police Department, the Maguire, Gibbons and Tedesco families, at the dedication of the Woburn Police Memorial Monument honoring officers who gave the ultimate sacrifice while serving the City of Woburn.

The dedication and reception will be held on Wednesday December 26, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at the Woburn Police Department Front Entrance.

Sincerely,

Mayor Scott D. Galvin

Two years to the day. A fitting tribute to Woburn's best.
