Woman Bit By Dog While Delivering Newspapers

An excerpt from the WPD police log. The following arrest information was supplied by the Woburn Police Department. The arrest does not indicate a conviction.

The following is an excerpt from the Woburn Police Department log. Please note that this is a sampling of activity in the log, not a complete account. We report all arrests included in the daily police log.

At 4:02 p.m. police responded to a Majority Lane residence on a report of a dog bite. The caller said she and her father were delivering newspapers when she was bit by a German Shepherd dog. The woman was bit on her right buttock. The dog’s owner was in the yard when the incident occurred, the father explained. The bite caused a bruise but did not break the skin.

The father said his son was bit by the same dog a few months ago but they never reported it.

Police attempted to contact the owner but were unsuccessful. The incident was to be reported to Animal Control for a follow-up and to ensure the dog is up to date on vaccinations.

Other Incidents 

July 2-

At 11:40 a.m. police responded to a Kelley Drive residence on a report of vandalism. The caller showed police her front picture window that was damaged. The caller said that sometime on July 1 her picture window sustained damage. It appeared that something like a golf ball or an object that size hit the window breaking one pane of the glass and leaving a significant crack. The caller said she didn’t have issues with anyone and couldn’t think of anybody who would have intentionally broken the window.

 

July 3-

At 3:23 p.m. a man came to the lobby to report that his cousin, who is recovering from drug addiction, took $900 worth of change he had collected in a large Poland Spring bottle. The reporting party said he had confronted his cousin already and he admitted to taking the money and promised to pay it back. The reporting party said he just wanted the incident logged in case his cousin did not pay back the money.

July 4- 

At 7:57 a.m. police responded to Market Basket on a report of a counterfeit check being passed. Police spoke to the store manager who was with the woman who tried to use the counterfeit $100 bill. The bill looked authentic to police but was revealed as a fake with the use of a bill marker.

Police spoke to the woman who had passed the bill and she stated she couldn’t remember where she had gotten it. She said she had an envelope of money that she used for shopping and the bill was the last of that money. She said she banks at a Woburn bank but was not sure if the bill had come from there.

Police state in the report they believe she did not know the origin of the bill. The counterfeit bill was seized.
