Polls Open at 7 a.m. in Woburn Today

State primary held on first day of public schools.

"We look forward to welcoming back all of our students [today]," said Superintendent Mark Donovan. "This summer has been an especially busy one, but we will be ready to launch into the new year with some new and exciting things happening in our schools."

In addition to the first day, parents and residents over 18 years old will be voting in the state primary city-wide.

City Clerk William Campbell said that polls, including those inside schools, will be open between 7 a.m. and 8 p.m.

"We urge you to be extra cautious at arrival and dismissal time at our school sites," said Supt. Donovan. "The Woburn Police have pledged their support in making the day a safe one for all."

For today's election, primary ballots are available for the Democratic, Republican and Green-Rainbow parties. Voters registered in one of the parties can vote their party’s ballot, while independent voters must choose one of the party ballots. 

According to the City Clerk's office, voters enrolled in any other political designation cannot vote in the primary.
